The design on the "Adam" pattern flatware by Oneida Community is known as an oval and ribbon motif. The pattern was named in honor of the renowned British designer Robert Adam and reflects the Colonial Revival style popular in the early 20th century.

Key design elements include:

    •    An oval cartouche in the center of the handle, designed to prominently display a monogram (such as the "W" on these pieces).

    •    An urn-and-flame finial at the tip of the handle.

    •    Elegant scroll accents surrounding the oval and at the base of the handle.

The overall style is often associated with the Art Deco era of the early 1900s.
