Antique Victorian James Dixon & Sons Silver-Plated Teapot
This is a beautiful antique teapot manufactured by the renowned British silversmith James Dixon & Sons in Sheffield, England. This piece dates to the late Victorian era, likely between 1880 and 1900.
Features:
• Material: Made from Electroplated Britannia Metal (EPBM), a high-quality base metal coated with a layer of silver.
• Design: Features ornate, hand-chased or engraved floral and scroll patterns on the body and lid, typical of the Victorian Aesthetic Movement.
• Marks: Clearly stamped on the base with the James Dixon & Sons trumpet-and-banner logo, "EPBM", and the pattern number (likely 43xx).
• Dimensions: Approximately 5.5 inches tall (top of handle to bottom of feet) and 10.25 inches wide (spout to handle end).
• Condition: In very good antique condition; minimal plate loss on feet, minor surface scratches consistent with age. No dents or major damage. Interior shows some staining expected of a piece this old.
This is an elegant piece of British craftsmanship perfect for collectors or as a beautiful decorative item.
